With the EcoDiesel engine being a late availability in the 2019 Ram 1500, FCA appears to have begun stockpiling 2018 Ram 1500 EcoDiesels on a lot that is a part of the old Pontiac Silverdome property in Pontiac, Michigan. With the lawsuit between the U.S EPA and FCA finally coming to an end you can bet that FCA wants to get Ram EcoDiesels back on dealer lots.

My dad got a 2017 one for about 35% off I believe. Great deal but on his way home the check engine light came on so he had to return it the next day. They had it for over a week and then he got it back again. After about 60 miles the light came back on again.. so now it's sitting at the dealer again already. Anybody else having problems?

I had a 2015 model for 2 years and 20k with zero issues. I traded it for an identical model with a hemi because I missed the v8 power. I do however miss the fuel mileage of the eco, but the diesel cost was consistently .50 more here.

Right. Also Def fluid & cost of engine @ over $3,000 depending on truck.

Def fluid cost is negligible. When I had my EcoDiesel I spent less than $25 per 10,000 miles on Def fluid.

yea i was on this boat too, diesel is more expensive then gas here easily .75 more a gallon, however the increased MPG still wins.... even with DEF

Doing the math on 10k miles, i save literally 6-700$ on gas, sure def will cost maybe $2-10 per gallon depending on where you get it, but thats literally $14-70. The 6-700 savings covers def fillups a few times over throughout the year.
