Hey folks, I took my 2014 5.7 in for a whole slew of recall/update campaigns.

When I got it back, I noticed it was running significantly hotter, and randomly throwing O2 slow response/fuel trim lean codes.

I had a custom Hemi Fever tune installed via my Diablo Trinity.

Any chance these updates could have reset the ECU?

I have not used my Trinity in years and now it shows a bunch of errors when I try to connect.

Seems like its running lean via the OEM tune (it has LT headers, cat back, CAI, Ported TB)...

Just seems rather coincidental...

I contacted Sean at Hemi Fever to see if I can have him look at the vehicle since I am local to him.

You're lucky they didn't scramble your PCM.

Good advice.

I hot the Trinity updated/downloaded whatever it was trying to do with the DS Downloader tool.

I will plug it in to the truck tomorrow.

I doubt your tuner is going to work anymore since it has your original factory tune on it and the tune currently on the truck is a newer version of the same thing. Your going to have to get the tuner reflashed by Diablo and get a new tune from Hemifever unfortunately.

Rats. That's what I was afraid of.

I wonder what caused this?

You will have to make a call to Diablosports & have them walk you through unlocking tuner now because it will be locked out.
They will give you the codes to unlock over phone.....may even send files to be loaded to tuner over the internet.

They overwrite tune & the tuner that was married to pcm is now unmarried by factory write.
That's why you must write stock tune back before taking to dealer for recalls to unmarry tuner.
When you get truck back from dealer you need to read updated stock pcm & send to who wrote your tune so you can have new recalls on your performance tune.
Or you could just write previous performance tune back to pcm until you get new tune.
You just want have the new factory recall updates on pcm.

Thanks for the detailed response.

So it's not just a matter of reapplying the tune?

If I understand you, now the tune needs to be modified because of updates performed by FCA.

And that's after I get the Trinity squared away with Diablo Sport.

<whew>

I have a Dynojet Power Commander 5 for my motorcycle & it is so simple, a 3 year old can do it. I guess car computers are way more complicated.

Also a word of advice, do not update tuner unless you have put stock tune back on truck.
Not all the time but sometimes tuner gets confused & will not communicate with pcm.
A 2 amp charger on the battery is also recommended when reading & writing pcm with stock tune just because of the long time to write & read pcm.......to prevent voltage drop & a possible pcm brick due to an incomplete write.
Just writing performance tune on top of another performance tune is quite a bit faster so could get by without charger.

More likely you need to update your Diablo interface either way. But first thing to do is to contact Diablo for an action plan. Dont try to write anything, As it was said you want to reread your stock tune and they'll need to help you out unlocking the device so you can do a new read.

The tune doesn't change but id guess they should port over the changes from your tune file to the new stock file. Dont know much about Diablo but its an easy fix with HPTuners so id think it should be an easy fix for them too.

I plugged the tuner in yesterday.

Same results. Need to downgrade, calibration ID not supported.

What PITA.

I will call Diablo today.

Amazing that the oil temp is running 35+ degrees hotter now. I guess with the LT headers, CAI, ported TB, she's running really lean on the OEM tune.

Coolant temps are about 25 - 30 degrees warmer.

Good thing I put the 185 degree thermostat in. :)

Let us know what happens with this. I'm in the position where I might have to update the PCM on my truck and my Trinity downgraded the PCM when I custom tuned my truck in 2015.

The Trinity is hosed.

It just stays at 'loading' now, whenever I plug it into the ODBII port.

I tried calling Diablo but their wait times for technical support were absurd.

I will try after the holiday.
