Well, I bought a couple of 3M eraser wheels but they don't seem to be able to get the job done. Any ideas, pointers, or select cuss words to help get the factory double sided tape of my fender flares???

Brake cleaner... hair dryer if needed... and a very staggered approach. A lot of that stuff is designed not to be taken off. However I use the exact 3M adhesive that they use all the time. It's a PITA... but it will come off.

Razor blade to get the bulk off, then the 3m wheel and lots of patience

That part was the biggest pain for me too. The removal of it on the fender, but the Eraser wheel got it done for me.

Well, I ended up doing the following method to remove all the adhesive tape off the fender flares....

1) carefully take a razor blade along the tape to remove as much as possible.

2) spray remaining tape with adhesive remover.

3) use a flat plastic trim removal tool to scrap off rest of adhesive.

4) repeat steps 2 and 3 as needed until clean.

5) wash fender flares to remove adhesive remover residue.

That's it for now, letting them dry and will get new tape to install them on my truck.

Damn good question sir! 2 of mine are coming apart in multiple areas on the flare and I cleaned and prepped really well and
used the supposedly good 3m tape made for that application, frustrating.....:favorites68:
