Now that I'm getting wheels that will stickout a bit further than stock, I ant to look into fender flares. Which one are the most commonly used? I don't want the smooth ones, I like the ones that show the notches in them more. Will eBay ones look just as well as others or should you pay more for others?

There are quite a few styles of pocket flares out there. I've seen some of the ebay and lesser quality ones on trucks. Some don't fit well, others do. It's a bit of a crapshoot.

For me, I measured how much tire I had sticking out, then went looking at specs on quite a few different makers & sets before deciding to order the Bushwacker flares for mine.

I looked at Street Edgz, Bushwacker, MOPAR Accessory, eBay "no name", Rough Country, EGR & Lund

Here is how it looked before and after.

I believe mine are the Rough Country brand (They were on the truck when purchased used). I will say that some of the eBay ones seem to resemble these greatly. The biggest thing to not is that they are not as tall as some. The front flares are notched on some brands because they are higher than the headlight.

Here is my truck:

This is a stock photo for Bushwacker brand. Notice how they are larger and require the notch at the headlight

Hope this helps! Also, nice to see other members from the SWPA area.

I recommend getting these. Not because the price makes sense for what it is, but because they fit the body lines of the truck perfectly. They also use 3m tape instead of the rubber gaskets... If you're not aware of the issues with bushwacker style (rubber gasket), you should read up on it some.

(I know, 3m clear can help prevent this... But for $600, for plastic... You shouldnt have to do extra work)

Cool, thanks guys. Lots of options so I'll have to see what I want. I do remember reading about one kind that would wear the paint away or something like that so I'll probably avoid that. The eBay ones don't look half bad and I agree, I don't see where you get $600 worth of product in a few pieces of plastic. Stuff is just outrageously priced.

Stringer: That's crazy that you're that close to me. I love the blue monster. You're the second person on here that I have found from this area. I am sending you a PM.

Thanks guys.

The other has got to be Drummin4jc with the Red Goliath lol. As a matter of fact, he has pocket style flares as well and just recently had his lifts and tires installed. I'd shoot him a PM to see where he had his done as well. Once your truck is finished up, we might have to schedule a meet sometime between the 3 of us.

Yep, that's him. I actually did PM him a while back but he never got back to me. Probably just too busy putting all that stuff on that truck lol. I'll try him again.

Here's some close ups of the ebay flares I posted further up.. They fit the body lines exactly, no gasket.

I'd like to see a comparison to the $600 bushwackers.

Personally I'm not a fan, plus my state doesn't have any laws against tires sticking out.
