Finally decided on rims. Now question about nicer tires on stock Ram.

Gunna go with the new Fuel Beast black/brushed rims. Now, I had a few questions about tires.

My Ram will stay stock. Looking at Goodyear Trail Runner AT. 275/60R20. Was wondering if anyone had them and any comments (bigger brakes? Gas mileage decline, etc). Love to see photos.

My experience with goodyears have never been good. I am on the stock tires at 32k and they are on their way out. I rotated when I should, alignment + balance is all good and mostly drove on the road.

This seems to happen with every single set of goodyears I have had on multiple vehicles.

I am sure others will chime in but I wouldnt buy those tires.

Wheels are an awesome choice though

It's funny. I've had orig tires on my 04 for almost 60000, then second set lasted over 50000. Yet I met a guy who had the same yr as mine and said his lasted almost 30000 and started to blister. I guess it's a crap shoot. But that's why I looked at the Goodyear cause mine lasted pretty well.

I looked at an 18" TrailRunner and the tread was nice. I'm thinking the 20" would look sweeter.

driving habits and type of driving are factors in tire wear. If you like those tires get them

my sisters truck is at about 40k now and the stock SRAs are still good with no rotation, neighbour around the same mileage and also no rotation and SRAs are still good. Mine are at 4k as I pulled them off my new truck and am running them on the old one. 2 tires already have tread blisters and need replacement. They're P rated tires good for fuel economy and road noise. If you stay on pavement they're decent tires. Take them off road as I do and potholes will destroy them pretty quick. I've never had tread blisters on LT tires. Should add my old truck came with SRAs originally as well and I blistered 3 in the first 6 months before switching to LT ats so I think it's more about having the right tire for what you need.

I realize that there are exceptions, but I like many others, have had terrible experiences with OEM Goodyear's. I had few---and I mean few miles on mine before I changed them out for a set of Michelin's. The Goodyear's were horrible in the rain and on wet pavement. It seemed that the pavement didn't even have to be wet, maybe just a cloud in the sky and they would hydroplane. They just felt unsafe. If you have had great luck with them I applaud you and maybe that is the way you should go, but I think you are one of the very few that have had that type of experience with the OEM Goodyear's.

I've had the good fortune to quite a few new vehicles over the years and many of them came with Goodyears. However, once they wore out, I have never replaced them with Goodyears. My preferred replacement tires are Michelin, Cooper, and Toyo. Great results (handling on wet and dry pavement, road noise, treadwear, etc.) from all of them.

I do like your wheel choice though. I'm anxious to see what they will look like when installed on the truck.

On my newer truck I swapped the Goodyear's out at under 100km. Drove it home, washed it, changed the tires.

My oem SR-As were replaced at 700 miles by GY under warranty, they were all out of round. I had to replace with a GY tire, so I went with the TrailRunner's. They are 265/70/17. I don't know of the gas mileage, if any, difference. I still average between 25 and 26 mpg overall on the highway. They are the stock 265/70/17. I was really surprised that I have no noise issues and they ride well. If it would have been my money, I would have bought Michelin LTX's. But I am pleased with these. I have 7000 miles, and they are wearing ok. I'm guessing they will last the 50k rating they have. They do well in wet weather, also.
