Finally Getting The Tail Lights

Finally getting ready to order LED smoked tail lights guys! But just need an opinion, getting them smoked by a buddy who professionally tints lights and just curious as to if the tail lights with the black backing would turn out to dark after they are smoked? Let me know what you guys think.

around my area, "tinted" tail lights are technically illegal but "smoked" tail lights that already come smoked aren't.

I have mine blacked out by my paint guy with black paint in the clear coat.Depends if you want just the "smoked" look or the "black out" look.

I would get the black background/clear lens. Only b/c even if they are lightly tinted, it seems like they would look darker (since it's black back there) as opposed to more chrome with the smoked ones. At least that's my plan
