Going to be picking a fire extinguisher to put in my truck (safety for me or someone else). Where have you guys stuffed on in a crew cab? I’m thinking under the rear seat in that cubby hole (not the storage boxes under the floor mat) that the tradesman’s have.

Side note: was talking to a state trooper the other after seeing someone tried breaking into my truck

And happen to make a comment about fire extinguishers, and he said, “don’t you have one in your truck, that a commercial vehicle and requires one under NYS DOT law” being in New York any vehicle over 5500 lbs is commercial plated... and knowing New York and our king cuomo it wouldn’t shock me if it is law... doing a search on google and the dmv site I can’t find anything for personal use trucks, just a handbook that is for “commercial vehicles” which is more under a bus/semi criteria saying extinguishers are required for all commercial vehicles.... so it seems to be a very grey area....

I have mine velcroed in the bed of my truck (driver side against the cab). But I have a topper with the side window doors and a bedrug. Wasn't to sure about the bedrug until I realized how much stuff I could velcro to it.

Before the topper I had it mounted under the rear seat (megacab).

I have a Purple K mounted to the back of the driver side seat track using a “Bracketeer” mount. It was originally mounted on the front track but I kept kicking it. My ‘01 had the FE under the rear seat which rendered it useless most of the time.

I've always mounted mine in the tray behind the seat normally behind the drivers seat. However the current truck has an electric seat, so I put it behind the passenger seat. Mine has always been two door trucks so I don't know how much there is behind the rear seats.

I have a rubbermaid with all the stuff I require on the roads I drive in the box of the truck. Fire extinguisher, road flares, spill clean up pads, first aid kit and a few other things. Actually have a cheap fondue set with candles for a makeshift snow melter/ food cooker/ heater in case I get stranded in the winter.
