First Post - Lighting Question

I recently picked up a 2018 Ram 1500 Crew ST 5.7 Hemi. I have spent days searching for aftermarket grills with LED light bars but don't want to shell out the big $$$$ that the ones I like cost. So Im thinking about installing a light bar behind the grill. I figure it will be safer from theft but wondering it doing so would cost me in lost light or a funky hex like pattern? Anyone done this that can comment?

I'd also appreciate any tips, tricks, advise around mounting brackets, great dash OEM style switches, etc.

I have 4 hooked up behind my grille, no funky pattern at all.
