Hello all,
I recently was put between a rock and a hard place with the current truck I had a 2002 Dakota with a 4.7L. I had owned the truck for roughly 8 months and already had put $1700 into a new clutch and transmission. Well the other day the rear end started howling (rear pinion bearing going out) then the very next day the truck started surging real bad under load. Come to find out it was due to a #2 and #4 misfire caused by low compression in both (below 100 psi on both cylinders). The dealer quotes me at roughly $4300 for all the work. So for ***** and giggles I went and looked and replacing the money pit I called a truck... out of shear amazement the dealership offered me a very reasonable offer for my broke truck and I am now cruising around in a 2018 1500 quad cab Sport 4x4. Needles to say I am very impressed with the truck and look forward modding the crap out of it.
