Hey everyone, I just bought my first diesel, finally own a big kid truck. Had nothing but hemi powered trucks my whole life and just pulled the trigger on a 2014 2500 Laramie. I'm a diesel noob, so I'm just wondering if you diesel freaks could help me out with some of the main problems you all have seen with these trucks? Anything major that I should be worried about? Truck only has 17K on it

Best thing you can do to it is delete it with a custom tune.
Really the only problems you will see is thanks to that system.

The only problem I've had with mine, besides a couple of recalls, has been the DPF system.

I did a full system delete, added a programmer and some tunes, and I'm good to go.

The best advice I can give you is to follow the vehicle maintenance recommended intervals and make sure those fuel filters get changed routinely.

Yes to the above..... full deletes is the way to go. I would change my fuel filters at the same time as my oil on my Cummins. I had issues with my tranny at the beginning took it to the dealer and they swapped the torque converter. Haven’t had an issue since. Going back I would have gotten the aisin tranny.

Appreciate the info, I've already started looking for those kits and a mechanic shop that's got a good rep for doing them. Unfortunately being in key west it' a haul to Miami to find those shops

I thought the aisin tranny was only an option on the 3500 TD's?
