I'd rather give my truck more than it needs and it not use it to its full ability. Then run on 87 and take the risk of premature detonation. A truck that is worth 30 to 60k and ur worried about what? A 100$ a yr. I'm guessing that synthetic Is not really worth the extra money either. I guess this all really does not matter to me. My life time warranty will take care of it regardless. Every one have a good day!

To the OP: Did the dealership say what the truck was previously used for/number of previous owners?

Titled/sold originally to one of their customers who traded it in on a new truck. One owner. Checked for rust and confirmed not used for plow.

Having this many miles, and only being a 2010, I'm guessing it's a lot of highway miles. But you never truly know.

I could have waited and hoped that I found another one that had literally everything in every combination that I wanted, with lower miles, and paid around 18. I figure this way I've got $3500 worth of savings I can put towards fixing things - which is a healthy sum in most scenarios (except my BMW 335, everything on that car cost $1000 to fix).

Not necessary. This is from the manual.

Flat out states that anything over 89 won't help anything.
