Flashing Sales code with Snapon MODIS?

So my mechanic at work has a Snapon MODIS computer. He claims he can log onto Chrysler ' s website to access the sales codes and add them to my ecu with it. Does anyone know if this is possible or not? The thing is very sophisticated and can do just about everything. Thanks

Haha. Ya hopefully he is telling me the truth. He likes to tell tall tales so I wouldn't be surprised if this were BS. We are going to try it tomorrow. I have my doubts though.

I went to snapons website and watched a bunch of their videos on the modis and its capabilities, seems like it can do a ton of stuff, it sounds pretty freakin fancy but I didn't read see or hear anything about inputting codes into the cars computer. Hope it works out though, what were you going to try to add?

What are sales codes?

Sales codes are a 3-4 digit code for most items installed on your truck. So for instance, if your truck doesn't have fog lights and you wanted to add factory fogs you'd need the dealership to add the sales code for fog lights LJN. If you get a copy of your build sheet you'd see what came on your truck along with the corresponding sales code.

I'll be adding the Power Inverter code and pretty much any other code available for my truck. I'd rather have the codes all added at once if I can even if I don't end up using them.

In my experience with the snap on verus... which is a higher scanner... it can NOT do this. No one except the dealer has the capability to add sales codes.

Ya after more and more searching including reading the Techauthority site you can flash the computer with a pass through device attached to the Snapon Scanner(which he has) but you can only do ECU updates and stuff like that. Guess I'll bite the bullet and go to the dealer.

This is incorrect, Jon Rodriguez at afterhoursmopar.com can activate 2012 steering wheel with audio buttons the dealership couldn't even activate. Hey Jagr, u should get ahold of Jon & see what he can do for u especially since u have 2010 ram. When I spoke with him he mentioned he had CPU/diagnostic tools dealerships don't have
