what do yall think about painting my truck flat back? Should i do the wheels, grille guard and steps too or keep them gloss? Also im going to keep the bumpers and center caps chrome and also get a chrome grille. Heres a pic....
I don't know about flat black, but I did see a truck with a custom paint job that was done in a satin finish black. Well, it was more of an in between black and gunmetal, but the satin looked kind of cool
I really like flat black as an accent, but for the whole vehicle, I think it looks kind of like someone who doesn't put much into the vehicle - which is a shame because in many instances, they probably did.
If you're itching to spray paint, I'd go for that (I think it's called Header Orange).
Yeah, it was a few years ago, but the satin looked really cool. It had a cool luster to it like brushed metal or anodized aluminum. it was at a show at Orange County Choppers so it was all detailed.
I'm not sure, but I wonder if it would be hard to maintain? Gloss is easy, just shine it up, but satin might show all kinds of blotches.
i wouldn't go with a flat or satin black, they look to close to primer black which says to me that the owner just kinda covered something up. A gunmetal grey, or a granite with metal flakes would look awesome though.
thanks for the opinions guys. flat/satin/matte is out... Im tired of black anyway. what about the orange color with blacked out accents? My uncle owns a body shop and he will paint it for cost plus 700 bucks. I jus dont want black anymore. scratch and dirt fleck shows up
