Okay guys I'm thinking about putting one of these muffler on my new ram but I don't want it loud but just mellow so you guys that have them on your ram what do you think? I'm planning on keep the resonator on at first and maybe take it off but since I'm planning on getting a 5'er I don't want it too loud and hardly no drone in the cab. Thanks guys for your input, I want to get it done soon, hopefully this week sometime.

yup. IMHO the chambers (flowmaster) makes way more cab noise because its holding it up in the muffler more (under the cab). the straight through Magnaflow is known for low moderate tone and all the noise goes out the back.

Awesome guys, now if I remember correctly the dia. of the pipe of the 2016 2500 6.4L are 3.5" and if they don't make them can they install the 3.0" on?

you can do anything, like go down to a 3", but i wouldn't do it.

Magnaflow makes a 3.5" w/ Offset In/Out

Oh, okay I will look into that I told him that I wanted Magnaflow with offset 3.5" so he suppose to be ordering from his warehouse and give me a call back, when he do I will make that he got the 3.5" dia.

If I recall correctly from my research I'm pretty sure the 3.5" diameter offset in/out is the Magnaflow 12909.

BoldAdventure and I both have a 22" Magnaflow dumped where the resonator used to be (check out dedicated 6.4 exhaust thread). I believe his is the 3" diameter while I went with the 3.5", part #12909. Both are center/offset and will work; however, it's not a direct replacement for the OE offset/offset muffler. Minor fab required....

I know exhaust sound is very subjective, but I really like the sound of the Maggie on our trucks. It's deep enough but not obnoxious/excessive with minimal drone. I would definitely recommend my setup to anyone looking for an exhaust upgrade.

Okay, I finally was able to find one so I will pick it up tomorrow and talk to the shop about installing it, they told me it will cost about $75 dollars to do it I was planning on keeping the resonator first and see how it sound.

That's a good price for install!

If you live where it snows and the roads are salted in winter, I'd recommend making sure your shop uses stainless pipe for the extension and the correct fill for the welds to prevent premature corrosion.

I'm glad to hear you want to try it with the resonator. Even though it is incredibly ugly, that is what I am leaning towards. Looking forward to your feedback!

Okay I just had my Magnaflow #12909 install today I left the resonator on and for now I like it, it's just a little louder over stock but it give me a little deep rumble I see once it broke in before thinking about removing the resonator.

I decide on a 14" magnaflow. Shouldn't be too loud with the catalytic converters still on
