I'm considering flushing my crankcase with sea foam. Has anyone done this? Just want to drain my old oil then plug it and put a bottle of sea foam in it for 5 minutes then drain well and add new oil.

Sound safe?

Whoa, you can't run the engine with seafoam. You add it to the used oil and drain it out with it.

Lol. That's not what I meant at all.

1. Drain old oil completely.
2. Plug drain hole.
3. Add sea foam.
4. Let sit for 5 minutes.
5. Unplug and completely drain sea foam.
6. Plug and add oil.
7. Done

Letting seafoam filter through your engine and sit in the crankcase won't do much.

Add a 1/3 of a can to the current oil
drive/run it for ~5 minutes
drain etc etc

Even if it just washes away residual oil its worth a shot.

If you really want to flush it, get some cheap 5W30 change the oil and filter, pour the prescribed amount of SF in the oil and run it for a couple hundred miles, then change again.

I've run amsoil synthetic ever since she was new, and change it every 3,000. Between that, and dropping the operating temps to 130 degrees +/-, you should see how clean the engine and oil stay.

do what my granddad does. change your oil and filter, use 4 quarts of motoroil, and 1 quart of MMO or kerosene, your choice. change your filter after 500 miles, and at 1000 miles change your oil as normal with a new filter.

Dave, you change Amsoil every 3k????
Have you run a Blackstone analysis? How often are they telling you to change it? At $25 for a test, it could save you a ton if they recommend you go to 5k or 7500...
