hey guys I recently got some Baja designs squadron sport pods. Four to be exact. Need some help with wiring. I have tried to use the factory fog light wiring with the lights but when the truck is on it pulses. Now I have the lights hooked up to the battery with their supplied harness, in-line fuse, relay, with a on/off switch by passing the factory fog light wires. Is there any way I can tap into my fog lights so that way I can use the oem switch to turn them on and off? Any help is much appreciated thanks

Hook up the oem fog switch to pin #86 on the relay, all that does is trigger the relay to “turn on”, the power to the lights will come from the battery.

I wasn’t sure how many relays your running but you get the idea, just add or subtract

If your truck is a 15+ then the above won’t work. The trucks canbus system is pulsing the lights looking for the amp draw of the stock halogen bulbs, when it doesn’t see it it shuts the power off to the fogs.

Best way is to leave it stock wiring and throw the $100 mopar specific HID harness on the fogs which trick the canbus system and use the battery as the power source all while using factory stock switches etc. my 14 didn’t need it but my 18 does as they switched in 2015 to a more aggressive canbus system.

Edit: the above would work for a 14 or older but the 15+ canbus will kill your pin 86 batt 12v source. Otherwise your stock wiring would work as it’s essentially just a 12v and ground.

The cheap fix without getting into AlphaOBD would be some in line caps between the pods and the factory fog wiring. That's what I've been running with my LED fogs and it's been solid for a while. Eventually I'll change my settings with AlphaOBD after I get off my lazy ass and have all the recalls done so I don't have to chance doing it twice, again laziness.

Old thread i know ... but since I have an 18 i don't need to run any relays and just add the led pods from the oem fog harness?
