Since it's an ST it's likely you don't have it and will have to get a separate switch in order to make it work so you will have to turn it on separately than your headlights. I am currently trying to find the part number to get the factory wiring harness for this price.

IDK that early 3G trucks were pre-wired, but my truck is a 2005 and definitely an ST.

This is taken through the driver's side opening. As it so happens, I'm also doing this. I couldn't find a complete kit so I had to order the harness linked above and a switch. I'm still going to have to figure out what to get for fog lights, but there seems to be a lot of choices. If anyone has recommendations, please say so.

What years are considered 3g trucks? Mine is the newer model '02. Looks like the 03-05 models. Thanks

I guess the takeaway from this is that '05 STs-on have the fog light lead, as evidenced by Night Hawk and myself. IDK what year James Taylor's truck is, since he's got a 2011 listed under his name.

Seems like *some* 2002-2004 STs don't have the lead, as Icywhite (2004) and Lil_Ram (2003) report. However, an SLT from this time might have the lead even if there's no fog lights. And ST-8 mentions below his '04 ST had the lead.

And from 2006-on, with CANBUS, it appears the truck needs flashing to activate the lights, even if the harness lead is there, as SchroederMP noted.

The factory kits are now hard to find, if not impossible. So if a truck has the fog light harness lead and one wants to have a factory setup, jumper 56045501AC in conjunction with a new switch is probably going to be the way to go.

Last thing is even with a factory harness lead and either the fog light kit or individual components, there might not be a relay or fuse there as the truck wasn't equipped with them from the factory.

WTH; what's the criteria for the wiring, then? So it's not as simple as year of manufacture. And it's not a matter of equipment, as my truck had only one factory option-cruise control.

Mine option wise is just HEMI, an seats(thank god I don't have the crap vinyl seats). I have cruise control too idk if that was an option or standard. I didn't even use it when I put fogs in because idk it was there. I lol'd when I saw it. There's a thread I remeber reading where 02-05 st trucks are also prewired for the over head gauge/ console thing.

There is definitely a wire going up the A-pillar in my pickup. I saw it when I installed clearance light and wondered if that was where they plugged in from the factory, but the kit called for half-taps on existing wires.

Interestingly enough, I saw a thread where it was claimed that wire is for a self-dimming mirror. It was only one or two wires, IIRC, so it likely couldn't support many functions.

Cruise control was at that time a stand-alone option for ST and might've been bundled with something like a decor package. I could look at my window sticker to be sure, but offhand I think it was ~$350.00 MSRP.

I believe the ST had an option for the fog light wires as mine didn't come with it on the build sheet with one but had the cruise control feature with was probably a default to all trucks no matter trim

I don't think there was ever a fog light pre-wire option in that the truck was built with the lead from the harness down to the bumper-at least not that I ever saw. It seems it either was built that way or not as an ST.

IDK if CC was standard in early 3G models and removed from mid-cycle models. But here's a picture of my sticker with the sole option-Customer Preferred Package 25A, consisting of only cruise control.

I think I have the window sticker still. I'll put up a pic if I can find it. I'm the third owner of mine.
