I've been considering doing a steel front bumper as well and I just keep wondering how much suspension/lift work i'm going to have to do so that my front end isn't grinding into the ground. They aren't light and I can't see them helping get traction in the rear on those snowy and wet days because of all the weight being in the front end and nothing in the rear. I love the way they look, but the extra weight is a concern. I also don't want to get a paper thin (1/8" thick steel) front bumper. I would want something that could take a hit if need be.

The stock chrome bumper isn't particularly light....nearly 80 lbs if I remember correctly...so, not mich heavier than adding a winch to the front end....

I doubt it squats any more than 1/2" with a reasonable bumper.

But I have the Sport plastic bumper. I get what you’re saying though. I don’t mind a little rake but I don’t want a drastic one.

yeah, i was looking at road armors, and rough country (el campo, tx) - i like the RA has the sleek look that i really dig on, but the Rough Country is solid pipe, significantly more solid than ranch kings
