I was in 4 high and went back to 2wd I stopped went back words just incase. no luck so I went to work anyway roads are covered in snow to worries. I got to work and its now back in 2 wd. huh go figure, is there a problem with my transfer case because I was wondering this... doesn't the front drive shaft spin free in 2wd, if so mine does not. I have a factory front axle assy I am in 2wd I was doing brodies in a clear parking lot. thanks for any input......

No. Your driveshafts always spin. There are no selectable hubs, they are unibearings, so they always engaged. If you damage your front driveshaft (bend it) you will have to fix it, or drive without the shaft in place.

The t-case is where it's engaged/disengaged. If you tried spinning it with the tires on the ground, you're trying to turn the front differential with the tires still on the ground and you won't be able to spin it. In other words, the front diff and front driveshaft are always engaged together, the t-case is what locks them to the rear axle.
