I have a 2006 2500 2wd. The tires are wearing on the outside and my front left is humming. Jacked it up and tried to move it to see if it was bearings but it was tight. Sound increases and decreases with dips in road/pressure. Can this be a ball joint or is it bearings?

The way you describe it, to me sounds like bearings for the hum. Is the front end lifted with a spacer kit?

Mine hummed bad when my bearings went. I also had an upper ball joint that went out at the same time. At 60 mph it got extremely noticeable.

it does sound like a bearing, usually before a bearing has play (or at least in the trucks that iv have) they would make a sound like as if you had mud tires on it (very noticable if you have non aggressive tires) then it would have play. Or it also be that your camber is out if the tires are only wearing on the edges
hope this helps good luck!
