Good Afternoon hope all had a good Christmas just wanted to rant I bought a 2025 Ram 1500 Tradesman after having to trade in my 2016 (long story) but I am so frustrated the new truck has been in shop 4 times with check engine lights and only has 1028 miles on the odometer keeps throwing P0300 DTC. Have had every story in book from dealer from " Need to use premium fuel" to unable to duplicate condition... my 2016 Ram with only 41000 miles was 10 times better than this truck but could not get the ABS module and waiting list for part was two years per Dodge. Anyone else having problems with the V6 e-force engines.

Not sure which engine you have as there is no e-force engine. Since you mentioned V6 I'm going to assume it's the 3.6L Pentastar etorque engine and not the I6 Hurricane engine. The Pentastar engine is a reliable proven engine. A P0300 code means there has been multiple cylinder misfires detected. This should not happen in a new engine. Don't let them tell you it needs premium fuel and wash their hands of the problem. Ask them to show you where the owner's manual says to use premium fuel (it doesn't). There is an issue that they need to fix. Be polite but insistent. If you get nowhere with this dealership take it to another one.

mikeru: You are correct it is the etorque I dont know where I came up with eforce, I agree there is a problem I just talked to the service writer again and am taking it back in Monday as it has another CEL showing right now when I take it in I am going to speak with service manager and voice my frustration with the run around. The service writer gave me the old " oh the technician has to be correcting it or the code would not go away" I informed him I have a code reader and it says the DTC is P0300 would you like to clear code now. He had no response just see you on Monday.

Get paperwork of what they did everytime you take it into the dealership for repairs along with write down who you talked with and a summary of what they stated(include time and dates). Also keep any paperwork if you have to rent a vehicle while this truck is in the shop.That way you have a big papertrail if you have to lemon-law this truck or end up in binding-arbitration.

thought id come here and give an update... after the software updatre my truck went dead as a doornail sitting on the dealer lot overnight... no power no door unlock etc... dealer got the door open manually and it wouldnt start or light up.. not even a dome light.. then all the sudden the alarm went off and the truck came back to life... ..they checked it out no codes or anything... ive had it back for about 9 days now including a couple 12 degree F mornings and zero check engine lights or rough running... also notice it idles smoother esp when cold.. im thinking they got it all fixed up.. remote start works every time now too. Looking forward to enjoying my new truck like i have the last 2 Rams

To heck with worrying about Hurricane mechanical problems in the 25 model. I think engine management, computer and wiring gremlins are going to put most of them into the shop. Makes you wonder what the heck is going on at RAM.

Document every part of your encounter with that dealer ,they lie .
You may obtain more satisfactory results from a different dealer, one mechanic can make or break a positive experience.

May want to look in to lemon laws for your state and start the process. Better Business Bureau offers free lemon law services.

Do you have the I6 or V6 ETorque? I can see the dealer saying you need to upgrade your fuel choice with an I6 but a Pentastar? They are full of ****!

The OP already confirmed it is the Pentastar by saying it has etorque as the Hurricane does not have etorque. And just to clarify a couple of things for you...the Pentastar is a V6 not I6. The SO Hurricane does not require premium fuel so dealers would be in the wrong if they said you need to upgrade to premium.

I also swear you have to talk to them,and tell them how good a job they're doing,while rubbing the dash. Not much differant then the way you treat your wife/girlfriend

We had problems with our 2013 wrangler unlimited transmission. The dealership seemed more interested in collecting our warranty's deductible than fixing the issue correctly. They once even claimed it was due to a radiator leak, that they said didn't exist 3 times before fixing it. After 7-8 times, my wife started calling Stilantus customer service directly. Only then, when the rep started tracking the problem did the dealership finally replace the transmission.

Then why are you here? They have no more issues than any other car manufacturer. Surely you've warned people of the problems that Ford has with transmissions... or the intermittent electrical problems that GM is having with the Silverado/Sierra (bad grounds, etc...) plus their transmission they share with Ford. Or maybe Mercedes, BMW, Tesla, etc....

Heck, might as well go back to horse and buggy and avoid technology altogether.

Ram trucks have no more problems than any other truck brand. What matters more to me is how the problems are handled. So far the people at my local CDJR dealership have stepped up whenever we've had issues with the Ram trucks my family has owned. The key is to remain calm and deal with them them in a professional manner. Don't give them a reason to make decisions out of spite. They are not out to get you unless you give them a reason to dislike you. Ram and Stellantis lean heavily on the dealership's diagnosis. I hate to think any dealership would lie but why give them a reason to even consider doing that?
