There are at least 200 gas mileage threads on here, over 50 in the last 12 months. How about you read through those first then come back and ask specific questions.just trying to ask someone who owns one what the average fuel milage is,, he will be doing mostly highway driving and no towing
If you have to ask; you can't afford it.my son is thinking about buying a 2018 Dodge ram with a 5.7 hemi . Honestly what gas milage can he expect
Like ELVIRA, post # 2 said, way too many variables. 2WD, 4 WD, Stock Tires, Better Tires, Mudder tires, Trim Level, and and, and where be driven, roads, speeds, hills, what rear end, OMG. Just for giggles:my son is thinking about buying a 2018 Dodge ram with a 5.7 hemi . Honestly what gas milage can he expect
The advertised "sticker" gas mileage is a good rule of thumb. Some will get better, most get worse.just trying to ask someone who owns one what the average fuel mileage is,, he will be doing mostly highway driving and no towing
What you are probably seeing is people who believe the meter in the truck. Mine says I average ~18, but hand calc says more like 16. (about 50/50 highway/city.) I don't see a significant difference between the cheap **** Shell gas, and the mid grade (T-Mobile Tuesday/Shell Fuel Perks $0.25/gallon savings...)I always go to Fuelly to get estimates of "average". Here is a snap shot of 18-19 with 4.5 million miles of hand calculated mpg you are looking at 14.9... This is filtered to 5.7 hemi crew cab only.
I find a lot of the claims I see on forums etc (in general) to be exaggerated..... or victims of poor math skills.

You could get 16-20 if a 4x4 with little wind and a smooth road and 70 mph.my son is thinking about buying a 2018 Dodge ram with a 5.7 hemi . Honestly what gas milage can he expect
My 17 1500 Hemi with 3.23 gears gets 22 doing 70, can't complain. The advertised "sticker" gas mileage is a good rule of thumb. Some will get better, most get worse.
I drive my '14 Hemi RAM fairly easy and have gotten mid 20s on trips. The worst I ever got was 12 MPG and that was towing a heavy trailer from Florida about 800 miles trip running 70 mph.
I've found that most people that complain about poor mileage from their Hemi RAM has to do with 2 factors (assuming the Truck is in good running condition); They have it modified, lifted, big tires, etc OR they drive it like they stole it. The ones that are in both categories well, forgetaboutit.
