So its been a few months now, at first the truck would just try and crank and nothing, usually the 4th or 5th attempt it would turn over. I live in Vegas and went up to Boise Idaho for a month and it got worse and seemed directly related to the temperature drop. I noticed the pump wouldn't energize until that 4th or 5th time in the on position or even the 20th time. Now it won't do it at all and I was sure it was the pump, once I pulled the pump out I shot pin 4 to ground and didnt get anything so I thought I reassured myself of the pump. Well it still wont energize. Can someone point me in the right direction if it is the relay or if it could be something else?

Sounds like the tipm is bad. When they go bad, first sign is the fuel pump. Relay is in yhe tipm (fuse box under the hood).

Have you checked for power at the pump with the key turned on? There will only be power at the fuel pump for a few seconds when they key is first turned on to prime the system. Then constant power when the engine cranks/runs.

Yea, the pump isnt getting power. I am sure it is the TIPM but just wanted to see if there were any 3rd options I wasn't considering. I ordered an external relay to install and should be here in a couple days, will update when done.

Could be the wiring from the TIPM to the fuel pump.

Almost positive its your relay, I ran into the same problem on an old bronco. I learned the hard way to always swap that relay first, Fuel pumps are alot more $$ o_O

Also... side note, for whatever reason after replacing the relay i still had issues with the system not wanting to start. I talked to an old mechanic friend of the family and he said he had run into that before and the parts store fuel relay wouldn't work for some reason. He suggested going to a junk yard and grabbing one off an old bronco. Low and behold the old geezer was right and the truck is still running strong. So if you still have issue after replacing the relay don't make the same mistake i did and pull the fuel pump a second time! try a junk yard relay first!
