Hi all,
I'm new to your site.
I live in Alberta, Canada.
My pride and joy is a 2017 Laramie Longhorn 6.7 Cummins 3500 4x4.
Not sure if this has been discussed but a heads up on the spare tire if you have the same as me.
It's something that caught me by surprise when installing aftermarket Air Bags. Nothing about this when I purchased the truck or in any literature.
My truck came with LT285-60R20 (125/122R) wheels.
Spare tire is LT275/70R18 (125/122S).
Called the dealer thinking a mistake was made and was told that this spare is what's supplied. Told If I get a flat on the front I will need to take a back tire off and place it on the front. The spare goes to the back.
I don't condone this (shame on them) but it is what it is. I will either purchase a correct wheel as a spare or downsize to 18". Need winter wheels so this may be the time. Not sure, will need to do some research.

Check your spare before you need it.

I believe all the HD’s are like that. 99% sure my dads 2018 Laramie with 20’s has an 18” spare. And if you run a calculator. It’s only .4 or so inch difference on the diameter, so .2” on the radius, not a big difference (heck. If your tire has any wear. It won’t even be a difference) and the tires are the same as a base tradesmen/slt. No worries. Just run it

Yeap wheel size does not matter and if the overall diameter is the same you are good to go.
Its a spare and meant to be used untill you get your normal tire repaired or replaced.

Bam they nailed it. It’s a “spare” gets you off side of road to a tire shop. Have you seen doughnuts on the small little cars? It’s a temp tire your spare tire is a temp tire also.

Atleast the tire they do give you is a normal size. Aka. Any 18” rim with a transforce ht tire is the same as the spare. And even the rim is the same as the tradesman silver wheel, just in black, it will get you where you need to go. And I looked it up. The 275/70/18 is only .2” difference in height to a 20”, so .1” on the radius, so pretty much no difference. And if your 20” tire has any amount of wear it’s down to thousandths of an inch. Aka, no worries any which way
