The full size spare is to allow me to continue about my business without the need to waste time with the dwarf spare, limping and repair. Full size is in the bed tied down. I carry a compressor and a flat kit as well - it is about my mission, whatever it may be, and operating self sufficiently. Personal choice. I still have the dwarf worst case.

I’m jumping on this because the thread seems to have stopped.

The only link given was a $175
Wheel that is setup with 6 lug instead of 5 that a majority of 4th gens use, mine included.

Is there a cheap source for a 20” wheel that will allow the spare location hanger to work? I measured about 3” across th opening so I’d assume at least that size should work. Or can anyone confirm if the OEM 20” wheels that came on a lot of 4th gen will allow the spare tire mount to work. I’ve got a 35” tire (measured at a tad under 34”) that I kept from a recent new tire swap since 2 were good still so wanted to try this. My lift requires a 20” tire to clear front end parts, and the previous owner that did the lift only did 4 wheels so the spare is still the factory 17” :(
I'm running a 02166 steel wheel that I got off Ebay. It's a 20" steel wheel, 5 lug, and it fits the factory tire carrier under the truck with a OEM spec 20" tire mounted (20x8). Currently $132 and free delivery. Many places carry the 02166 spec wheel (same dimensions as OEM wheel and a fraction of the OEM price) such as Ebay, online wheel retailers, and Amazon.

Hello, I just traded my Jeep Gladiator Mojave with a new 2026 Rebel.
Is it possible to replace the smaller size spare with the OEM tire and rim. Will the "full size" tire (identical to the 4 stock tires) fit into the spare wheel well? I am taking a 1700 mile cross country trip and prefer the 5th wheel to be the same as the other 4.

I thought the Rebel came with a "full size spare" as std equipment. That being said, the full size should fit.

Your build sheet should indicate what is std and what is optional.
