I have a 2016 Ram 1500 Tradesman with a 25 gallon tank.
During my last fill up, it took about 15 minutes to add 10 gallons.
The delay was due to the gas backflow up the line to the tank - not due to the gas pump shutting off. Gas was flowing out of the truck.
No error codes.
From what I have read so far, any issue with the cannister would have an error code associated with it.
I plan on disconnecting the vent hose from the cannister and blowing it out.
Additionally, I plan to scope the fill line to see if the rollover valve may be stuck.

I've read through other threads, but nothing quite seemed to match.
Any diagnostic plans I should try? I really don't want to keep sinking more money in this truck if I don't have to.

Note that I have dropped off in driving recently, and moved to south part of central Florida. I fill up every 3-4 weeks typically.

Is it doing the same thing at different gas stations? Maybe the pump is just patheticly slow. Bring a gas gas with you and see how long it takes to fill a gallon or whatever size can you bring.

this wasn't a function of the pump. gas was glowing out of the tank due to inadequate venting.

Problem solved. I bought a used replacement off of eBay, after viewing a part number on the hose.
2013-2024 RAM 1500 CLASSIC OEM FUEL FILLER TUBE ASSY GAS TANK NECK HOSE VAPOR
I had to remove the tire and fender well. I attempted to replace the hose all the way to the tank, but had difficulty removing at the tank. Instead, I left the hoses and replaced the cannister and plastic line. I would have save an hour and massive bruise if I had made the decision earlier. All good now. Parts were about $160 which included shipping and warranty.

not long ago, not sure just when, a few years ago

A Ram owner proved to Mopar that their Fill Tube was in a Bad place, for the latest Gas Station pump Nozzles

The old Nozzles had the top of the air vent too LOW on the Fill Tube.
So Mopar moved the Air Vent up as far as possible on the Fill Nozzle as possible

There may be a newer Modification since this one ??
