The shifter on my 2014 Ram 1500 is loose, i am able to shift into drive and reverse but the shifter is very loose, so here are my questions...

1.) Do i need to buy a part if thaths the problem?
2.) Can i take apart the column myself and tighten the shifter?

Hi @Damon7278
If this is something you decide to address with your Ram dealer, we would be more than willing to escalate a case on your behalf to a specialist for further support through that process. Please do not hesitate to follow up with any additional questions.

Soooo i tried it but i am unable to tighten the 10mm socket since there is not enough room, i plan on taking to a shop not a dealer to get it fixed, how much do you think it will cost for the repair?

If you cannot access the shifter bolt by removing the rubber boots you can take the upper and lower steering column shrouds off to gain access. It's an easy fix. There are a couple of Torx screws in the lower steering column shroud that you need to remove to separate the upper and lower from each other.
