Your memory doesent suck. But The early 4th gens do share some body panels with 3rd gens. Found that out with my brothers 2010 when my front bumper(2015) wouldnt line up right on his due to the shape of his bumper cover and grill. Really threw me for a loop when I discovered that lolThe 2019 Classic is 4th-Gen, with maybe the door-post decals being different (because the new one says "Classic" on it?)
The 2008 is 3rd-Gen (2009 model year starts the 4th-Gen series, if my memory doesn't suck.)
That is what I found when I was looking to purchase my new truck, they continued the fourth generation RAM 1500 as the 2019 classic (I actually bought a leftover 2018 2500 that I really like). There are also some times when the model years don't line up with generations. For example, in 2002 they began the third generation for the 1500s, but the 2500s that year were second generation. You had to wait until 2003 to get a third generation 2500, that is what I had bought. In 2019 model year you could either get a fourth generation or fifth generation RAM. One way to tell is that the 1500 badge is on the hood for the 5th generation where it is on the door for the fourth generation.your in the right place. It’s a gen 4
