I just got this link in my email. Essentially, if you were to buy this OBD link and alpha obd you would have everything you need for about what I paid for the OBD LINK MX by itself. I dont see any reason that this wouldn't work with alpha obd. OBD link just uses apps as far as I can tell, this just gets you access to a a bimmerworld app as well as the OBD link app that they give you with OBD Link MX.

But does it give you access to all of the settings that AlphaOBD does? From what they say it's just another OBD scan tool. AlphaObd is very fussy about which bluetooth interface you use.

Looking at it, its obd link "software" that it uses for the standard OBDii scan is exactly the same as my OBD Link MX. The reason OBD link works so well with alpha OBD is for the type of connection that it uses. I took a screen shot of my OBD Link MX+ available protocols. Unfortunately the website doesn't list them in detail. And the CX isn't very specific either. But im going to order one for my CTS because I like leaving it plugged into the truck to catch anything that happens EG: misfires, etc. But in the support tab on obd links website the CX isn't listed under the bimmercode support either. So im gambling that it *should* work lol. You just can't use windows.
