I have the MX4 also, and live in a tropical climate. Only time it leaked was a month after it was installed when Hurricane Milton came through with 110+mph winds with my truck pulled as far as I could get it into my carport...winds were coming from SW, which is the open side of my carport.

I recommend the Backflip cover for your bed. I installed it on my 16 2500 and you can walk on it if up to 300 lbs, and it folds up in quadrants for needed clearances. Water tight.
