Some cretin went through the neighborhood last night keying vehicles and slashing tires. Got one of my tires and keyed the right side of the bed.

Some of the keying isn't deep, but there as couple spots down to the gray primer. Is this something I can repair myself? Or should I get it done by a shop? I've got a $500 deductible that I'd rather not claim on the insurance.

Well first, cry a bit - I am for you. Second, is your state a 'stand your ground' state? the deadbeat(s) that did it need to feel your pain... in actually physical form. Then I would at least go to some body shops and ask for a price. Even some dent repair guys do small paint fixes sometimes. I'dd ask around before deciding to do it myself. I'dd want it to look as untouched as possible, otherwise it would bother me forever.

Your truck is only 1-2 years old. Get it professionally done. If it's down to the primer, there's not much you can DIY to make it look good, unless you have body shop experience.

Well depends on how much got keyed and how deep. Do you have pictures? What kind of tire do you have? Also it should be on your home owners insurance not auto if it was parked at your house.

Get it fixed and once you do change your comprehensive deductible to 50 dollars. It only aide my insurance go up by about 50 bucks every 6 months. It was really cheap.

Lance:
Still got your Malibu?

Vincent:
Aw, man. You know what some f***er did the other day?

Lance:
What?

Vincent:
F***ing keyed it.

Lance:
Oh, man, that's f***ed up.

Vincent:
Tell me about it. I had it in storage for three years, it was out for five days and some dickless ************* f***ed with it.

Lance:
They should be f***ing killed. No trial, no jury, straight to execution.

Vincent:
Boy, I wish I could've caught him doing it. I'd have given anything to catch that ******* doing it. It'd been worth him doing it just so I could've caught him doing it.

Lance:
What a f***er!

Vincent:
What's more chicken**** than f***ing with a man's automobile? I mean, don't f*** with another man's vehicle.

Lance:
You don't do it.

Vincent:
It's just against the rules.

I would get it professionally fixed. My front bumper had some crap touch up on it and looked horrible. I waited until the entire bumper was a little more beat up and had the whole thing repaired and repainted. Now it looks good as new and matches the faded paint on my 2014.

Sorry to hear about the ********* who mucked with your truck.

I'd get it professionally fixed.....or you'll be looking at it with regret ever you see it.
