Does the little change cup (or whatever the hell it is) above the radio pop out? I have a 2015 2500. I am thinking about popping it out and mounting my GPS to it and snapping it back in. I think it would look much cleaner than being stuck on the window. Had anyone else done this? Pictures please!

Want to do something like this

What do you think? Not sure if I can cut the cord and hard wire into the dash. It has anteena built in for traffic updates

Yes the cup does come out. Remove the mat and there are two screws. It will still be “clipped” into the bezel. A putty knife from the front works to pop it out. I took my gps w/shield mount and cut it off and ran a screw thought it from the bottom. You will need to make a hole for the screw and the gps mini usb connector in the cup. I did not use the factory mat for the cup. I had some spare thin black rubber mat and just cut a new one. Put a hole for the screw and a slit for the usb connector/wire.

I only have a base radio on my 2011 and that is fine with me but I did need bluetooth and a backup camera. I got a 6 inch Garmin with blue tooth, traffic and camera. I also have to use the factory power cable because of the traffic and camera receiver are in the cable. I just plugged it in the drivers side receptacle then ran it under the dash and up behind the bezel and radio.

Pictures are attached, some reflections on the gps screen but you’ll get the idea.
