I own a 06 Ram SLT 1500 that I bought in 07 and a 2011 Ram Lariat 2500 4wd that I bought in 2016 and it had the engine replaced at 137k (5.7) so it only has about 53k on it now. I blew a head gasket in the 06 ( 4.7) 2 years ago with 182k on it, so I pulled the engine and had the heads machined and then replaced all the gaskets and timing chain, oil pump and sensors. I did so with the help of youtube mechanics! I had to purchase aftermarket motor mounts because one side has been discontinued and you cant find a good the other side for under $500.

The trans has been rebuilt twice since I pull a trailer with it daily. Now needs suspension work and the clearcoat is peeling off the cab and tops of the doors. This truck is still pretty clean and sentimental so I dont plan on replacing it soon.

The 2011 has a new water pump, alternator but something is causing a loud noise like a loose bearing that slowly fades as it warms up. I took the fan belt off and no noise so its not lifters but I cant tell where its coming from. I replaced the tensioner pulley and the other pulley so it may be the power steering pump Im guessing. Its not the typical whine of a failing pump but sounds like a loose roller bearing trapped in something spinning.

If you guys have any thoughts about what it could be, I would greatly appreciate it!

Get a mechanics stethoscope or just a dowel rod and start placing it against different parts, alt ,w pump , anything else. This should help to identify the problem.
