Caught a green number sign today. Didn't even see the damn thing!

I'm going to call around for quotes tomorrow. What a way to ruin an otherwise great day!

That definitely sucks. I rather get a door ding than a big ass scratch. It's cheaper to fix for starters.

My first was 3' long along the side of the bed and dented in, cost me $1800 out of pocket a year ago. At least now you've officially christened it and won't be as mad the next time ;)

I fixed this a couple months after buying my truck. Was done by Vision Collision and only cost me $273 OTD, so $2000 CDN or something. Still looks awesome and has a great warranty. Crappy day. Hate when this type of stuff happens.

Damn that's a tough one!

My guess was around $1000 for this, but I've really got no idea about this sort of thing. My cousin recommend a local guy who's really good and works for cash. Fingers crossed!

In a little over a year this pickup has
My fault or low truck?
1-Hit front bumper on broken concrete -scratched into bumper not just paint.
2-Hit front bumper on ice- snow scratched paint.
Not my fault
3- I parked it outside away from trees. Breezy day, Oak trees loaded with acorns. Acorns attack truck denting hood roof front fender and 2 in bedside. 2700$ including new hood.
My fault
4-Messing with hitch hight I had wrong socket. Sat in on rear bumper. Didn't see it and dented tailgate when I opened it.
Not my fault and almost unbelievable, the path that the stone had to take.
5- Pulled into store parking lot. Sitting in pickup on phone qwack something hits truck. A mower hit a stone , stone hit rear power slider. Did not crack but big stone chip/bruise. Replacement was about 600$.
This doesn't include the stupid dogs that have scratched the doors. The worst will not buff out, of clear coat.
I've never had a vehicle go through so much in a little over a year. It's not like I'm not nice to it. I buy it nice things, I keep it clean. I change the oil, it's got a heated polebarn to sleep in. Why???
My theory is its red, attracts everything. Yeah that's it. I'm going back to white after this.

Sorry dude, hate to see that. Someone swiped the rear driver's side of my truck behind the wheel well (but in front of the tail light) the first few weeks after I bought my truck, I understand a bit of your pain.

That stinks sorry. I find it easier If I know that I did the damage other than someone else.
Good luck with repair.

I had a few quotes.

One was from an auto body center ran by one of the local names that owns a lot of car dealers of several brands...$500 spit out of a computer.

Another was a national auto body chain. Their intake may have been a little too formal and I didn't even see who did the appraisal. I think it was just computer generated too...$600.

Checked out a shop that looked like it had a lot of business. They were family owned and run (hispanic) and would only deal in cash. He had the lowest quote at $250 but I didn't get the good vibe.

I chose where I did because the guy who did the quote was one of the actual guys that would be doing the sanding and body work. The manager also walked me around the shop and showed me the paint booth, what type of paints they use and a couple of the cars they had recently done all without me having to ask. Although the shops were not squeaky clean and were a bit older, I could see they were legit. I didn't really care what the place looked like if they were good at what they did. The quote was $273 and that's what I paid.

Even if you have a connection I'd still get some quotes to ballpark what it should cost.

I did #4, twice, in 2months. I had the paintless dent repair coverage. Naturally, the dings were too far down the tailgate to be fixable under that policy. Still aggravates me when I see them.

Thanks man, I'm going to 5 shops today to see what they think. I'm told they'll have to redo the clear coat on the whole door, so I'm expecting it to be rough!
