A few observations from a Ford owner. MFG Engineers way of thinking.

When your backing up; if the elevation between your rear bumper and the ground is decreasing the sensors will pick that up as an approaching obstacle. This may explain the beeping for no apparent reason. You have to be traveling at a high enough rate of speed for the auto brake system to engage. Sorry I can’t recall off the top of my head what that speed is though…….anybody??

My first experience was backing out my slightly down slopped driveway and had the brakes slam on as I approached the street. Took a while to figure out what was happening. Since then, I keep my bumper sensors turned off unless I’m in a tight parking spot. I find them to be too annoying to have on full time.
Another issue with the rear sensors I discovered by accident…
… The disappearing, optional “step” beneath the left rear bumper area…if inadvertently left deployed…. will give an erroneous warning that some passing vehicle or pedestrian is present.

I have learned to co-exist with most of the nanny controls on my 23. But the one really irritating one to me is when I’m on the outside of 2 lanes turning left at a light. As soon as I start to steer to the left it thinks I’m going to collide with the car next to me in the inside lane and loudly beeps out, startling the heck out of me until it figures t what’s going on and stops. It always catches me by surprise.
The same feature has saved me twice from pulling into the left side of a small car on my right that I could not see in the mirrors.

I’ve recently discovered the Force which the Lane-Assist uses Can Be Adjusted in strength as to how Much Steering Wheel Force is applied to correct any drift. This can be adjusted thru the Uconnect screen.

Adaptive cruise control...
The one thing I don't like about it on my '19 is that it doesn't maintain a "soft" distance with the vehicle in front of the truck. If they slow down, my truck applies the brakes to maintain an "exact" distance to them. If someone merges in front of me, the truck applies the brakes to maintain the "correct" distance. How about just letting off on the accelerator to slowly open the distance, if that doesn't work, then apply the brakes.
My Nissan is a lot more gentle in maintaining the "correct" distance (I call it the soft distance, not exact distance).
My wife rented a suv for a trip to northern georgia over x-mas a few months ago...turns out enterprise was slammed with a bunch of BS claiming computers showed inventory that wasnt there due to the patch of recent hurricanes in the state.anyways the yo-yos gave us a small Hyundai suv...so p*ssed ...that thing was the biggest POS and had that adaptive thing i think you guys are talking about with it slowing you down coming up on a car......if your not paying attention your speed slows to a crawl behind some old lady driving 15 under the speed limit...figured it out after 2 days of driving it what was happening and also that car had that thing that shuts the engine off every stop light...had to set it to disable everytime you started it..... so irritating.

Yup that is what I am talking about. The cruise slows you down, you are not really paying attention to your speed, and then notice you are doing X MPH under the speed limit. The Auto Start Stop is on pretty much everything now. I just start the truck then hit the button. One of these days I will buy one of the eliminators. On my F150 I could turned it off with Forscan (I'm not sure if Alfaodb can do it).

On the Ram for Lane Assist when you start to drift left or right out of the center of the lane the vehicle icon shifts left or right and torque input is applied by the system opposite of your drift to get you back to center via the steering wheel if you have it turned on.
The GMC/Chevy also vibrates one's butt when lane assist or parking assist does their thing... I have customers whose trucks give me unwanted butt massaged when I pull them in and out of my service bays! :)

I hate that stupid vibrating seat with a passion. Sadly, I have to drive either a Grand Wagoneer with the Hurricane, an Expedition Max with the 10spd, or a Suburban on a 25 hr round trip next month. I'm not sure which I'd rather take the gamble on.
