Hey guys I'm thinking about doing the 2" rear drop shackles on my '06 and was wondering if it will hurt the ability to haul my 4 wheeler? Truck doesnt squat with it in the bed but will the shackles soften the suspension up? Thanks for the help!

The shackles wont soften up your suspension as they have nothing to do with the spring rate of your leafs. If it squats at all now with your 4 wheeler in the back, then you will get that same amount of squat with the shackles. Worst case scenario, you can always throw a set of helper bags out back to help out when you have a heavy load in the bed.

I did consider helper bags. I'd rather do the shackles to level it than do front spacers so I think you just sold me on them!

Hauled 800lbs of dog food okay with drop shackles and overloads removed. That was one of a few times over 3 years.

A few times over 3 years? What kind of dog eats 2400 lbs of food and is only 3?!

I used to haul my quad all the time with drop shackles and no o/l leaf, I also towed a trailer with a few quads on it quite a few times no issues

Those hauls were for volunteering for a animal rescue. My dogs go through about 55lbs of food every 2 weeks
