I'm sure this topic has been covered 100 times, but I've been researching tonneau covers for a few weeks and cannot find one that isn't missing something that I need.

1. Open from the front and back
2. Allow access to stake pockets
3. Waterproof
4. Hard
5. Locks (with tailgate preferred)
6. Easily removable

Extang Encore: I have been told that the gutters don't run all the way to the tailgate, which allows them to drain into the bed... Does anyone have experience with this one?

Fold a Cover: Does not allow access to stake pockets

Bakflip, Undercover: Only opens from one side

I'd rather not settle on one that's missing a feature if I don't have to. Thanks in advance for any advice =)

note: I am planning to install an L bracket to prevent people from accessing release cord the with a coat hanger

Im looking for a new Ram, also in the same boat as you. Looking for same features as well. Saw a post before I joined about the G4 Elite covers. Those look really nice, try that maybe.

The G4 Elite is from Fold a Cover, it blocks the Stake Pockets. It's a very nice cover otherwise.

I just got my truck yesterday and installed an Undercover Flex. Has all the features you mention and opens from either side. Allows full bed access

How do you open the flex from the cab side? I haven't seen that as a feature anywhere; do you have any pics?

Not sure what you mean by cab side but here's a picture. It opens from drivers side or passenger side

The Extang Encore has a key lock by the back window so you can access the other side of the bed without having to open the enire cover.

He means opens by the rear window and opens at the tail gate

I haven't started price hunting, but the Extang Encore looks to be around $900.

I was thinking of maybe modifying the back of the extang rail with some hose to drain it out the back of the bed.

I have the tonno pro tri fold I love it I'm not sure if you looking for a soft or hard but for the price the tonno pro is very nice the best money I have spent it was less than $350. It takes seconds to fold has clips so you can have the bed 2/3 open all the time. It mostly water tight I get a few dribbles after a really hard rain over very happy.

Ps takes less than 3 min to fully remove.

I thought Bakflip made one , I know someone does , I've seen it ! One that opened at the cab side to gain access to a below the surface mounted toolbox or tool baskets that hung from a rail.

I am running a Truxedo Deuce. The front portion hinges open for easy access to the front of the bed without rolling the whole cover up from the rear. It doesn't seal as well as my last tonneau, but I will improve that with a bit of foam tape in a couple areas, and some of it appears to be the tailgate itself, which is not a cover issue. Overall, I am pleased.
