First move w with new truck to me, combined trailer and machine weight about 13,000 lbs. The 6.4 hemi moved the weight very good for a gas engine. Never got about 3500 rpms on moderate hills and got about 10 mpg.

Cool. Congrats on the successful tow. I could sure use that CAT for a few days if you want to tow it a little farther (north GA)

Nice Nick! What gears does your truck have?

3.73, I was 500lbs over my tow limit w the gearing. Truck felt stable compared to my old half ton *ciugh cough f150). I didn’t rush towing at all.

Nice, that's what my truck has as well. How did it feel pulling out from a dead stop at those weights? What about on some grades if any? At least that was not a full height travel trailer or 5th wheel. Wind resistance would make a big difference at those weights.

You felt the weight but once the truck started to roll, she got moving well. I have never owned a diesel so I can’t compare, and the machineis a buddy of mine who I sometimes helps. Nothing too extreme hill wise but normal 3 or 4 percent grades back east, low elevation as well. I’ve moved my father in law travel trailer w my old truck and yes wind resistance kicks you butt after 45

Good info! Thanks. That's good to hear. The 6.4 is mighty, no doubt about it!
