Best thing to look for with headers is to find a set that are ceramic coated. They will last a lot longer.

You'll get better gains with long tubes, but those look nice. They'll last fine, BUT ceramic coating will keep engine bay cooler and help scavenge exhaust out more efficiently. If you've got a good coating shop in your area you can always buy stainless and have them ceramic coated. That's what I did and found a local shop puts a lot thicker coating on than factory ceramic coats...

I had a pretty good friendship with Marty when he was the head guy at KRC Performance who steered me to the shop I used. But you can hunt down your local Harley guys, they know all the chrome shops and most chrome shops do ceramic coating...

oh really? I didnt know that, good info

Yeah, I think it's got to do with getting the proper hazmat licenses to be able to obtain the chemicals and **** you need to do that kinda stuff and once a place goes through the expense of getting legal to do it, they get into all the stuff the licenses allows them to recoup the costs.

I had my headers drop shipped to them so I only had to drive the hour away once to pick them up and when I got there I saw that their primary business was chroming...

Just wondering if anyone has tried these and if so what you thought? STAINLESS STEEL EXHAUST HEADER 03-08 DODGE RAM HEMI V8 5.7 1500 2500 3500 TRUCK | eBay

I was looking at these and the BBK.

I have never heard of them. For the price it may be worth the try.

Stainless uncoated will last much longer than mild steel coated. I know quite a few people that have coated headers that do not last more than 2 years here in PA before they get holes in from rust.

I was thinking I would have them re-coated. I got a super secret guy right down the road that does the coatings for a lot of the drag diesels and some of the major turbo company's. I used him on some of my Jeep stuff. I won't post his site here without admin approval but If any of you want it pm me.
