been thinking of getting new headers. been looking at the Edelbrocks from 3rd strike. what are some differences from stock headers to the edelbrock shortys?
sound difference?
whats the performance gain? im getting rid of all the mud and i figured a good thing to add is a pair of shiny headers.
i dont plan on putting them in myself just cause i can get a KILLER deal getting them in.

recomendations besides edelbrocks also appreciated!

thanks

Well, there is a big difference between shorties and the logs you have in there now, they weigh less, they produce more power and more lowend tq, they improve mpg, they keep under the hood temps lower.... Exact number, couldnt tell you, sound wise they will add a bit more grunt to your exhaust, give a deeper tone to your cutout.

Just know that Shiny doesnt last, chrome headers are a waste of money as they blue and tarnish after about 10min of starting up.

Killer deal on the install? Does it beat free? Headers, specially shorties, are not that hard. If they were long tubes and you had to redo the entire exhaust thats understandable. But the shorties should just bolt right up to whats there.

so the shorties dont have to add or do anything at all. just simple plug in play sorta speak?
as in killer deal cost about $50 for the install.
im getting my cutout welded on for about $20.
the blue look will still look better then the mud covered as it is now! lol

They should be yes, no real fabricating to do like with the longtubes. But if you are doing the headers and cutout done at the sametime that is pretty good price wise.

Don't reuse the old ones. The heat makes them brittle and more than likely while you are torquing the old ones back on, they'll break off in the head. You can get Kooks header bolts for $8-9 or Stage 8 locking bolts for $45.
