Just levelled the truck with Bilsteins set at 2.1" up front. Headlights still seem fine and nobody is flashing their lights at me at night so I'm assuming that I'm not blinding them. Anyone else not need to adjust after levelling or did I just get lucky with this?

I made a mark with tape on my garage door when stock.

Readjusted after level.

I understand its too late, but you could be courteous and lower the lights a bit.

Biggest necessity came from switching to LED.

The trucks are shipped with the headlights aimed on the low side,so you're probably aimed about right after leveling the truck.Plus you have to remember the stock headlights are about as bright as a pair of Eagles asses in a powerdive are, lol:waytogo:

Do you also use your tachometer to tell you how much fuel you have?

You lost me... I'm sure there's a joke in there somewhere but I'm not getting it. Can you elaborate for me...

Seems like if you measure the aim of your headlights by whether people flash you, maybe you measure how full your gas tank is by whether the engine is running

I would re aim them anyway. Not hard to do at all, plenty of videos online of how to do it. All you need is a tape measure and some painters tape. Like @Wild one said they come aimed low from the factory. I have LEDs in my factory quad reflectors and after going to 2.8", they only had to come down a little.

Also you will need a 7mm 1/4 drive socket with a fairly long extension to reach the adjuster bolt. You can use a torx bit as well, just not sure of the size. The 7mm socket is much easier tho.

I saw the DIY on how to adjust, I just thought they seemed ok where they were but I'll adjust down a smidge. I was just wondering how many with the factory bulbs had to adjust and how many were ok where they ended up after levelling. BTW the torx bit is #20

I didn't readjust but that was on my 2012 with sh*t headlights and I also heard about them being aimed on the low side anyway. I don't think raising the front end between 1-1/2 to 2 inches would make much of a difference in headlight pattern. Adjusting the headlights by 2" is very different than raising the front end by 2".

I just had mine leveled last week and did not have to adjust them. I am, however, wanting to get LEDs, but am not looking forward to changing them, which looks like more of a hassle than it is worth...

Either they were wrong before or they're wrong now. There's some pride in doing things properly.

Well, now I can actually see more than 10 feet in front of me, and they are not blinding oncoming traffic, so all is well.

Yeah, ok. I guess it's like when you ask your kid if they watered the garden and they say the ground's wet so all is well.

There's no spooky voodoo to aiming headlights, it's a few minutes of time to know instead of assuming - but you get out what you put into things.

The trucks are shipped with the lights aimed low,you seem to have a hard time accepting that fact don't you. They're shipped with them adjusted to compensate for a load in the box or a trailer hung off the back bumper.

I'm just an optimist who thinks it's not too much to hope people would man up and do jobs the right way if they're going to start. Y'all are resisting a tape measure and a sharpie like kid resists vegetables, he could have had his headlights aimed twice in the time it took to explain why he doesn't have to. Go on and tell me again how half assing stuff is better I'm listening.

You're assuming they're to high, you know what assuming means i'm sure. The trucks are purposely shipped with them adjusted low so when you throw 600lbs in the box or hang something off the bumper, you hit a kind of middle road adjustment. It's common knowledge if you'd care to dig around a few of the facebook pages,or other forums. To do it properly you need more then a tape measure, they actually build head adjustment tools ,that's old school using a tape measure and a piece of tape on a wall and trying to get them set equally. For one thing you have to find a perfectly level piece of concrete at least 50 ft long which usually leaves out most driveways. The average owner ends up causing more issues by not knowing how to adjust them properly and in most cases are better off leaving them alone,"unless" they are getting high beamed constantly, then they should take it to a shop with the proper tools to aim them properly

we all make our own assumptions how we want to do things, we don't need to be badgered to do it the way someone feel THEIR way is better.

Oh, know what assuming is. Funny you should say that on this specific topic.

We're not talking about hairstyles or favorite ice cream flavors this is a problem with a defined, objective solution.

A solution which could have been achieved without any assumptions, in the time we've all spent talking about why half assing stuff is cool.
