I went to raise my passenger side headlight as I thought it too low , as I turned the adjustment screw I must have went too far and the light beam just dropped . I really hate to go to the dealer for this but I'm at wits end as I have removed the headlight and saw there is a threaded arm with a ball on the end inside a sleeve. I turned the adjustment screw and the arm moves inside the sleeve . Reassembled it and went to adjust and there is no movement. Took the back of the headlight off and saw that the "ball" sits on a opening on a plastic piece. Does anybody know how the adjustment works? I'm thinking maybe the "ball ,when I first adjusted it , was pulled through the hole(?)....cant find a schematic for the assembly ,so I'm scratching my head right now. Don't want to force anything that shouldn't be touched...any ideas?

yes it's still under warranty... do you think me putting LED bulbs in would make a difference?

It can be fixed. I did the same thing with mine when i put LED bulbs in. I adjusted it too much and the ball just unsnaps from the plastic inside. It is very difficult to snap it back together but i did both of mine

The headlights have to be put back to factory . also the dealer can VOID your warranty on the electrical system if you cut into any factory harness wires . Good luck I think you'll get it fixed learning curve we all have that moment

Bought my truck used from a dealership with the LED changes already programmed into it.I added all the LED bulbs except the rear license plate one/ bed lights (they were already done which probably was the reason the LED was enabled). No capacitors were used in any install.

The truck came from a Ram dealership or a used car lot , because that is cool if its a Ram dealer your purchase came from. They wouldn't be able to say a dam thing to you then. see your almost fixed up good luck:banana-mario:

Well then its another story you know they are going to blame the installation for the problem see if you can put oem lamps back in or your going to have to try and get that bolt back in place. Their was another post and the guy said he did it but was a little tricky. The worst is you go on Ebay or Amazon and get a new headlight used

Take the headlight assembly out and place them on a soft surface. There is 2 screws that hold the adjuster in place on the inside of the light if i remember correctly. With a very small socket wrench you can get inside the headlight assembly and remove them. Once removed you snap the ball piece back into the plastic “finger like” socket and then reattach inside. I did it 1 year ago and learned my lesson not to over tighten them lol. Once you have the lights out you and the dust covers off you will be able to see what im talking about. Good luck

Well I took the headlight assembly apart and there is one screw that holds the "socket" of the ball and socket vertical adjustment assembly. It's 8mm and impossible to get to unless you have a "L" shaped wrench or a very small ratchet(I have neither). Once removed the ball needs to be snapped back into it like "werdna1977 " wrote.... Now I need to get those tools ...I'll take a photo when I start the process...

Well I bought the smallest swivel ratchet HF had along with a couple of other tools....didn't fit into that small space, so I tried a completely different approach after 4 hours of playing with this headlight. I tilted the headlight back so that the interior flipped back ,stuck a screwdriver in there as a wedge and screwed the adjustment arm(with the ball) all the way forward (so either I was going to break something or the "ball" would be forced back into the socket). It got tight then "pop" .I looked and in it was...I thanked God and reassembled it but first I rearranged LED modules so as not to interfere if a future adjustment was needed... returned the tools to HF...
