I was looking over the “sticky” that someone posted showing the front end, torque specs. I saved it all to my phone.

I saw the final torque spec showing 148 foot pounds on the lower ball joint?? for some reason that sounds like that’s way too much.

Does anyone know the real torque specs on that lower ball joint nut? I have all new components in the front end.

Also, does anyone know what the real torque specs are for the tie rod end (ball joint) nut?

And the upper control arm ball joint nut?

Also on the sticky, it said that the bottom bolt on the strut was 100 foot pounds. Now I’m looking online. I’m seeing 155 foot pounds. Which is it?

Thanks for any clarification.

According to my Haynes manual, the torque specs area as follows....

1. Lower ball joint (arm to knuckle) 37 ftlbs
2. Tie rod to steering knuckle 45 ftlbs + 90 degrees
3. Upper arm ball joint to knuckle 40 ftlbs + 200 degrees
