I'm thinking about doing that to my fogs. Covers for the heads.

Dang!! Still blows my mind when I see posts or stuff on websites around the world how much some people know about The Batram and what it has, haha, very cool. For the record, I am indeed running GT Style (GTS) headlight covers on The Batram. I am running Retro Solutions HID headlights and foglights and had them in for around 18 months now and I LOVE them. They are both 6000K (my preference). If you are thinking about getting some, DO IT. The difference between these and the stockers is MASSIVE, blew me away, kind of sad I didn't do it sooner!!!

I also had Chad Brenneman from Unique Coatings make me some custom headlights, ALL BLACK satin housing, amber reflectors completely tinted and no halos (more to go wrong, don't like the look). Took around 3-4 months to get, delays, etc but combined with the new HIDs, it was WELLLLL worth the wait. The HID kit was plug and play, no bulb out dash light, no flickering, it's TRUELY plug and play and I have had ZERO issues since install, mounts easily and maintains highbeam. The 6000K is crystal white, no yellow at all and just a very subtle hint of a tad of blue, perfect.

IF I remove the headlight covers it still maintains the complete black/stealth look, just not quite as black (obviously) as the headlight covers. The HIDs are that good, I leave the covers on but for early morning roadtrips etc when "image" isn't a concern, I remove them. I would say light output in pitch black conditions (normal night time driving) would be around 80-85% of the factory output. Not bad for dark headlight covers. Keep in mind, I also have HID spots which no doubt help. Anyhow, some photos! The headlight pic is ****, sent from Chad himself lol, just added it so you get the idea of what they are like. Also added some other pics I took out and about.....

Cheers,

For the Foglights, I decided to use 20% window tint film. Too hard to spread in one sheet it has to be applied in 4 or 5 thin strips, a little finicky but WELL worth it. They came out great! It still shines through at around 100% factory output, the film is THAT light but still THAT dark. With HIDs behind them it is actually 20-30% better out put than OEM even WITH the tints. They've been done since The Batram was built and they still look new, new chips, tears, rips, perfect. I recommend doing it if you're after that sinister blacked out front end. Hope this has helped. ;)

Cheers!

The covers are mainly for looks, I don't do a lot of night driving, latest I'm out is at 9. My sleep is way more important than parties.

Oh, OK, well I hope my info was some help mate. Parties or not (not sure where that came from lol), driving at night is part and parcel of driving, it happens so it's good knowing if you wanted HID and covers that you can still drive at night if and when you need to. Anyhow, just trying to help..............

Haha, nah mate, just preference, less is more for me. Not into the halos or projectors, little too tacky in my opinion. :)

I hear ya! I used to be that way. Then I got the sickness. LOL

I'm not huge on the halos myself, but I have a thing for projectors. :********:

I think if done right, they can definitely fit any truck. Picture these with a tinted amber:

or, these - which would match the paint on your truck:

Hmmm, hmmmm, not too bad but I still prefer the "simple" look haha, my taste/preference aside, those are still very nice headlights though, I always appreciate quality work! Is that Chads work or?

MY BAD! lol Very nice work bud, very very nice actually. If I ever need some done for a new Ram, mine get damaged or friends ask WTB, I'll definitely recommend you. I'm a fussy ******* (OCD with lots of things, mainly cars) so yeah, I'm liking what I see! ;)

I wonder if it's possible to make a plastic cover and make it oem colored or smoked if you prefer.

I'd buy one.

Cough cough jj

I'll be honest guys...........I don't have plans to make covers for lights, or paint those. Yes, we can paint the outside, but at this time do not choose to, due to the type of clearcoat that is needed for the headlights.
