We're looking at getting a 2014 Ram 1500 Sport and I have a couple of questions on the projector headlights..

-When the knob is selected to off, is there any kind of Drl (daylight running light)? If so is it the orange led strip? Or are there no lights on?

-When the parking lights knob turns on, what lights come on? The orange led strip? Do taillights come on too?

-When the headlights are on are the led strips on too?

You can tell I really like the orange LED strip! LOL! Just curious! I would like someone with the stock projector and led lights to give me some info on this, Thanks!!

Off, is off. I think. I don't remember any DRL but I think there is supposed to be by law so I'm not sure. I'll have to look again.

Parking light is parking lights like any normal vehicle, so yes the amber LEDs are on as they are the corner lights.

On, is on. Again, the amber LEDs are your corner lights or turn signals or whatever you want to call them so they stay lit.

Vehicles built for the Canadian market that are equipped with projector headlamps use the LED strip in the headlamp as the DRL and at the same intensity as the turn signal.

DRLs are not required in the states.

Oh, is there a way to activate the drl on rams in the state? By the dealer maybe?

From the OM:
Daytime Running Lights (DRL) — If Equipped
The headlights on your vehicle will illuminate when the engine is started and the transmission is in any gear except PARK. This provides a constant Lights ON condition until the ignition is turned OFF. The lights illuminate at less than 50% of normal intensity. If the parking brake is applied, the Daytime Running Lights (DRL) will turn OFF. Also, if a turn signal is activated, the DRL lamp on the same side of the vehicle may turn off for the duration of the turn signal activation. Once the turn signal is no longer active, the DRL lamp will illuminate.

So it sound like its an addition to the system...I would suggest contacting the local dealership and asking if it can be added.

It's the signal lights that are the DRL's with the projector headlights.

I don't think you can flash them to "on" like you can with the other Dodge products.

One Canadian was trying to bring his new Dodge to Canada and the only US spec trucks that had the option and wiring were the Fleet and commercial bound trucks.

The full thread is on here somewhere.

So the short answer is no.

"Only in Canada you say?.... Pity"

Sure you can, the projector headlamps use the LED turn signal circuit for DRLs. There are two setting that have to be changed in the BCM configurations, select Canadian Mode then select which circuit to use for DRLs, in the case of projector lamps select the turn signal circuit.

I watched over my son's shoulder when he turned on my DRLs and these were the two setting he made. Unfortunately you have to have the diagnostic tools to access the BCM configurations.

Here's where I got the info from.
