Prior to selling my factory headlight assembly's and buying blacked out aftermarket. I purchased new bulbs that fit in the factory assembly.

Before selling the factory assembly, I removed the bulbs that I had just purchased and tried to fit them in my aftermarket set. The tabs that lock them in seem too big and they won't fit.

Does anyone know why these would work in the factory housing but not in aftermarket?

I’m guessing because the aftermarket headlights use a different type bulb than the factory headlights that you had used.

Modify street uses H7 and/or H1 bulbs, depending on which set you get.

I presume most aftermarket brands do similar...

Some aftermarket headlights aren't exactly spot on with the specs sometimes. Might have to trim the tabs on the bulbs to get them to fit in the aftermarket replicas.
