Let me preface this by saying I’m in NY, Long Island to be exact. I am not comparing the cold we get here to the cold in most other northern states.
My windshield washers wouldn’t spray this morning. I started to research heaters for this. It seems there are only a few options. BUT Mopar has a kit for some vehicles....

Has anyone used this or any other unit to elevate this issue. I’m sure some of the folks in colder climates can weigh in on this.

Thank You in advance!!

Use washer fluid that doesn't freeze. Most all season fluids are good to below or at 0 degrees.

In the winter I hit my washers when I'm parked for the night. Fresh fluid in the hoses & nozzles keep them from freezing overnight.
If there's snow I clear the nozzles before trying.

Agree, spend the extra buck or two for the stuff that goes to -25F or lower if you haven't been. Try that before you invest in a heater.

Use the de-icing washer fluid in the winter. Most of it is good to -45 or more. Mine didn't freeze and worked to -40c last year with the de-icing fluid.

I use -40 windshield washer fluid all year round mixed with RainX of course. Never had an issue and it gets pretty nasty up here in the winters!! But I am working on a heated headlamp washer system......Stay tuned.

That orange rain-x is ****. Tried it once in the winter when I couldn't find the old tried and true blue. Put it in used it and just smeared the windshield so bad I could hardly see.
Got it home and spent 45 mins in the driveway after dark somewhere between 25 and 30 deg. removing the bottle to drain and rinse reinstall and fill.

Never again.

I've heard the Orange Rain-x stuff screws up the washer pump. I use the cheap blue stuff and never a problem.

I have seen no pump failures over several years use in several vehicles.

One thing to be careful of is letting your washer fluid freeze... if that was the problem then it could crack your washer reservoir. In some vehicles its actually quite the procedure to replace/remove them

It doesn't freeze in the bottle in most cases - well unless the wrong fluid for the temp - it freezes in the lines and nozzles since those are really small passages. A heater will not help in that case.

Some of the oil change places don't start using anti-freeze rated wiper fluid till the late summer depending of the geographical location. I've had this happen with work vehicles, and confirmed with the quick oil change place it was serviced at.

Rain-x orange since 2005 with a wiper change every fall never an issue. This is the first year with the blue stuff I will put in when the orange gets lower. Back in the day, my father had a reservoir freeze up in IL with the summer blue. Heck come to think of it while in Minot, ND never had an issue and used the winter blue stuff.
