Hello Gang,

My name is Doug and I'm from Grand Haven, MI. Just bought my first truck (1997 Dodge RAM 1500) last year and I love it. I found this forum while searching for how to take off my factory horn. Seemed like a good place to meet other RAM owners so I joined.

Here's a pic of my truck....

I had to put a new distributor in her and get the parking switch replaced. She had a couple step rails, but my ex broke them off getting in the truck. Not that she's fat (she's a thin gorgeous thing), but they were pretty rusted. I'm getting a couple new rails soon. There's a lot of rust under her so I'm working on cleaning her up and fixing what needs fixing. Otherwise she looks and runs great.

Welcome to RF! Like the color, it's different than what you normally see. Good luck on the rust, I've heard that can be a PITA.

Hi Steven, yeah I'm finding that out as I go. A question — I'm trying to take the horns off, which are up under the front bumper, but I can't seem to get any wrenches to fit the bolt heads. I can almost get a 1/4 inch to fit, but not quite. And the metric equivalent doesn't want to grab hold, either. Any suggestions?
