Hello Everyone!

New owner here. But not new to the Dodge/RAM family. I have owned many Dakotas in the past and my last gal 2010 had 268000 hard KM on her before it was time to retire. I recently picked up a new 2023 RAM Tradesman and loving the full size. I am mechanically inclined and love to tinker. I already know a couple of "mods" I am interested in once my warranty is up. Dimming side mirrors will be the first....

Why wait for the warranty to expire?

There are many items you could tweak or modify and provided the workmanship is adequate, I wouldn't worry about warranty.

When I bought my truck, the dealership sounded supportive of my interest in making changes with the caveat of, if I buggered up something, don't expect the warranty coverage on that part or system.

Thanks for the welcome. So far only 10000km (@6000mi) on the truck... but that added up fast as I drive ALOT. Only had the truck for two months. At that rate the warranty wont take long.

Welcome from Alberta. I did lots of mods, like winch, canopy, tires, etc to mine, no issues at all with warranty. I even used AlphaOBD to change a bunch of settings the dealers won't change like TPMS thresholds, having the fogs stay on during high beam, making DRL optional like the States, not having the headlight drop out when the signal lights is on, etc.

Hi there. Great to see a new owner in the RAM family. About the dimming mirrors– solid choice for a first mod. The install isnt too hard but make sure to get mirrors compatible with your trucks wiring. After the warranty its a pretty straightforward job. Have a good one!
