Hello all!

I am considering picking up a leftover 2014 Ram 1500 and it is optioned almost the way I would want it except it is missing the rearview camera. This is a dealbreaker for me as I consider it a necessity for what I do.

I have done some research, and it looks like there is an OEM kit (found here-Rear View Camera, Uses Production Radio for Monitor - 82214240 | Mopar) that can be installed.

The question I have is does this kit function identically to the from the factory camera? I.E. does it have the lines, do they move, etc.

Thank you for your help!

Read the post: DIY: Add a Backup Camera to the 2013-2014 Ram
It looks like it explains everything in detail

The camera works 100% like factory. I installed the same kit on mine, and I have moving lines. One thing I recommend HIGHLY, check the pricing for how much it will be to have to dealer installed vs how much to flash the Sales Code to active it. I could of had it installed for $150 but paid $75 to have the XAC sales code flashed. After doing the install, I wish I had paid the extra $75 to have them do it.

Thank you, this is exactly the info I was looking for. I was absolutely planning on having the dealer do it-I read in the other thread it required some wire splicing, among other things, which (in my mind at least) makes it worth 150-200 bucks just to pay them to do it.

Thank you for the help!
